ACV Aims for 8 New Airports by 2030, 97% Population Access by 2050

The Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) has ambitious plans for the future. By 2030, it aims to introduce eight new airports in Vietnam, serving over 275.9 million passengers annually. By 2050, ACV aims to provide 97% of Vietnam's population with direct airport access, processing over 300 million passengers, and making the network nearly emissions-free.

ACV, established in 2012, currently manages 22 airports across Vietnam. It offers general aviation services, airport management, and ground support supply. In 2024, ACV handled over 100 million passengers and plans to increase international airports from 9 to 14 by 2050.

To achieve these goals, ACV plans to invest approximately 16.4 billion USD in expanding the airport network in Vietnam. This includes building new airports and terminals, such as Dien Bien, Noi Bai International, Dong Hoi Airport, and the flagship Long Thanh International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City. The latter is expected to commence commercial operations in 2026, featuring four terminals, 40 boarding gates, and 16 baggage carousels.

ACV also aims to improve airport operations through technology adoption. It has developed systems like ACV iCute, ACV DCS, and the A-CDM PORTAL. The corporation plans to expand the aviation system through infrastructure expansion, policy updates, human resource training, and international cooperation.

ACV's expansion plans are set to transform Vietnam's aviation landscape. By 2050, the country aims to have a nearly emissions-free airport network, providing direct access to 97% of its population. With strategic investments and technological advancements, ACV is poised to achieve these ambitious goals in Vietnam.
