The third season of the "Far East - Land of Adventures" contest has been launched, inviting both experienced travelers and amateurs to share their journeys across the vast and diverse landscapes of the Far East and beyond. The contest, supported by several key organisations, is open for participation until January 15, 2026, with the journey having been undertaken between May 1, 2023, and the contest's deadline.
The contest, which celebrates the beauty and challenges of travel, is divided into several categories: hiking, water, winter, and Arctic travel. This year, a total of 95 films have been submitted to the jury, showcasing breathtaking vistas, amazing discoveries, and the trials faced by travelers.
The most popular category in this season is "Hiking" with 62 films submitted, followed by "Winter Travel" with 17 films and "Water Travel" with 14 videos. Interestingly, the "Arctic Travel" category currently has only two video works, but the Arctic is represented by two films about traveling through Krasnoyarsk Krai.
Regions from across the Far East have submitted films for the contest. Leading the pack are Sakhalin Oblast and Khabarovsk Krai, with 39 and 30 films respectively. Other regions contributing to the contest include Amur Oblast and Kamchatka Krai, each with six submissions, Primorsky Krai with five, Zabaykalsky Krai with three, the Republic of Buryatia with two, Yakutia and Chukotka with one each.
The contest also welcomes participants from outside the Far East, with three participants from Sevastopol, Krasnodar Krai, and Kemerovo Oblast adding their perspectives to the mix.
