Airlines' Carry-On Rules Vary: Check Before You Fly

Travellers should familiarise themselves with varying airline rules regarding carry-on luggage. Both personal items and cabin baggage have size and weight limits, which differ significantly between airlines like United Airlines, Southwest Airlines, Delta Airlines, Spirit Airlines, and American Airlines.

Personal items, designed to fit under the seat, have weight limits at some airlines. Turkish Airlines caps personal items at 4 kg. Korean Air sets dimensional restrictions at 40 × 30 × 15 cm. Meanwhile, cabin baggage, stored in the overhead compartment, also varies. Aer Lingus allows up to 55 × 40 × 24 cm with a maximum weight of 10 kg. Weight restrictions apply to personal carry-on baggage at Lufthansa (8 kg), Condor (8 kg), Wizz Air (10 kg), TAP Air Portugal (10 kg), and Ryanair (generally 7 or 8 kg). EasyJet has size restrictions for certain seats but no weight limit.

When booking flights with Airbnb or any other platform, always check your airline's specific rules for personal items and cabin baggage. Weight and size limits differ significantly, and some airlines include baggage in the fare while others charge extra. Being informed ensures a smoother travel experience.
