CIS Launches BRICS Lab to Study Rising Influence on Global Politics
The Center for International Studies (CIS) has launched the BRICS Lab, a new initiative exploring the implications of BRICS' rising influence on global entry and cooperation. Led by Mihaela Papa, the lab aims to analyze transformations in global governance and study the impact of BRICS countries. Meanwhile, CIS is pursuing research on climate change, AI, and shifting patterns of global entry and governance, with a focus on fostering collaboration among researchers.
Papa, serving as CIS' director of research and principal research scientist, has been instrumental in these developments. She launched the CIS Global Research and Policy Seminar series to tackle current challenges in global development and governance. Additionally, she convened a Climate Adaptation Workshop to examine financing adaptation and policy innovation strategies.
Papa's leadership extends to overseeing grant and fellowship programs, spearheading new research initiatives, and mentoring scholars. She has secured a MITHIC Connectivity grant to build an MIT Amazonia research community. CIS' biggest research priorities include security, development, and human dignity.
The BRICS Lab, under Papa's guidance, is set to provide valuable insights into the evolving role of BRICS countries in global entry. Alongside this, CIS continues to pursue cutting-edge research on climate change, AI, and global governance, fostering a collaborative environment for bold ideas and innovative solutions.
