CR Park's Durga Puja 2025: A Bengali Cultural Feast in South Delhi
Chittaranjan Park in South Delhi is set to transform into a vibrant hub of Bengali culture and cuisine this autumn, as it hosts the Durga Puja festival. Organised by the Chittaranjan Park Durga Puja Committee, the event promises a variety of Bengali dishes, stunning pandal themes, and cultural performances.
Food stalls will offer a range of Bengali specialties, including puchkas, fish cutlets, khichuri, labra, chutney, payesh, rolls, Mughlai parathas, mishti doi, and Kolkata biryani. The best time to visit is in the mornings for a calm exploration of the pandals and in the evenings for the dazzling lights, Sandhya Aarti, and cultural shows.
The festival features a mix of music, dance, and theatre performances, with Bollywood and Rabindra Sangeet shows. Pandal themes this year include the golden Sonar Qila of Jaisalmer, Mother Earth, Mahishadal Rajbari, and traditional Bengali weddings. The event is inclusive, with bhog served to all and programmes running smoothly for large crowds.
2025 marks a special year for CR Park's Durga Puja, as three iconic pujas (Cooperative Ground, B Block, and Mela Ground) celebrate their golden jubilee. The neighborhood, fondly known as 'Mini Kolkata', offers a living postcard of Bengal during Durga Puja. Probashi Bengalis and culture seekers can enjoy this authentic experience, with Nehru Place (Violet Line) and Greater Kailash (Magenta Line) metro stations nearby, and autos and e-rickshaws recommended for local travel.
