Da Nang's Gang of Cultural Mavericks: The Organizing Committee for DANAFF III

Da Nang is buzzing with excitement as the organizing committee for the third Da Nang Asian Film Festival (DANAFF III)—set to rock the city in mid-2025—has finally been announced! So, who's taking the reins in this artistic extravaganza, you ask? Let's meet the movers and shakers ready to put Da Nang on the cultural map!

Nguyen Thi Anh Thi, as Vice Chairwoman of the Da Nang People’s Committee, steps up to bat as the Head of the organizing committee. With her high-level leadership and oversight, the festival is sure to be a smashing success!

Joining her in the batting lineup is Ngo Phuong Lan, who serves as both co-head and Festival Director. As Deputy Head of the Literature and Arts Theory and Criticism Central Council and the Chairwoman of the Vietnam Association for the Promotion and Development of Cinema (VFDA), it's no surprise Lan will be guiding the artistic and programmatic direction with a keen eye for quality.

As the Deputy Heads, we've got Nguyen Phuong Hoa (Director General of the Department of International Cooperation, MoCST) and Truong Thi Hong Hanh (Director of Da Nang’s Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism). These two will be working hand-in-hand to coordinate local and international efforts, and manage cultural, sports, and tourism aspects in the city.

The roster of esteemed committee members also includes Ha Vy (Deputy Director of Da Nang’s Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism), responsible for local coordination efforts. Meanwhile, Ly Phuong Dung, the Director General of the Cinema Department, MoCST, will be ensuring cinema-related policy and content oversight are meticulously enforced.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Dai Dong, Acting Deputy Director of Da Nang Police Department, will be overseeing security and safety arrangements—a critical role to maintain chaos-free festivities. Last but not least, Dang Cong Nhut, Deputy Chief of Office of the Da Nang People’s Committee, will play a crucial role in administrative and logistical coordination.

With this merry band of cultural mavericks at the helm, Da Nang's commitment to fostering international cultural exchange through cinema is as strong as ever. Buckle up, folks! DANAFF III promises to be an unforgettable ride.
