Discussion titled: "Work - But How?" Conference: Fresh Viewpoints for Disadvantaged Immigrants and Refugees with Disabilities
The Inclusion Circle 'Flight. Migration. Disability' is hosting a full-day expert congress titled 'Work - but how?' on September 25, 2025, at the Diocesan Center Obermünster in Regensburg. This event, part of the Intercultural Weeks Regensburg 2025, aims to create fair access to the labor market for migrant and refugee people with disabilities.
The morning session begins with greetings from regional politicians and representatives, followed by main lectures and a moderated panel discussion with audience participation. In the afternoon, the workshop focuses on developing practice-oriented approaches and concrete demands. The Inclusion Circle 'Flight. Migration. Disability', founded in 2020, consists of professionals, committed individuals, and those affected. The network was awarded the Inclusion Prize of the Upper Palatinate District in 2022. The congress is organized by the Inclusion Circle and the Supplementary Independent Participation Advice (EUTB), with support from Handicap International / Project Crossroads, Catholic Adult Education Regensburg, the Integration Council of the City of Regensburg, and the Regensburg District Office.
District Administrator Tanja Schweiger encourages professionals, volunteers, committed individuals, and those affected to participate in the exchange of opinions. The venue for the event is barrier-free, making it accessible to all.
The expert conference 'Strengthen cooperation, further develop guiding principle, promote cooperation' in Erfurt in May 2025 focused on migration and disability. Numerous representatives of the around 500 EUTB counseling centers discussed the particular challenges of double discrimination at the conference.
The Diocese of Regensburg, the Diocesan Pastoral Office for Work and Social Policy, and the Catholic Adult Education Center support the organization and coordination of the expert congress 'Work - but how?'
