Over fifty documentaries, including seven Romanian features, will be showcased at the One World Romania International Documentary and Human Rights Film Festival this year. The festival, running from April 4 to April 13, will be held at the Peasant Museum Cinema, Elvire Popesco Cinema, and Union theaters.

Festival Time! One World Romania Brings 50+ Docs to Bucharest

Get ready, Bucharest! The 15th edition of the One World Romania International Documentary and Human Rights Film Festival is almost here, happening from April 4 to April 13. Buckle up for a thrilling ride as we delve into more than 50 thought-provoking documentaries, including seven outstanding Romanian features.

This year, the festival will take place at the Peasant Museum Cinema, Elvire Popesco Cinema, and Union Cinema. An astounding lineup awaits you in the three main sections: Dialogues, Reverberations, Existing, Resisting, as well as focuses on British filmmaker Marc Isaacs and experimental debate format Extended Dialogues. Additionally, a plethora of events dedicated to Community, Education, and Industry will keep your spirits high.

New on the festival scene is the OWR Friends section, showcasing films developed during the festival or those whose directors have been a part of the OWR's industry programs.

The festivities kick off on April 4 with Ana Rieper's Paradise. The curtain will fall on the event on April 12 with Igor Bezinoviæ's Fiume o Morte! But it's not just the opening and closing films that spark our curiosity – keep your eyes peeled for Andra MacMasters' Viitor luminos/ Bright Future, Anelise Sălan's Interzis/ Forbidden, Mihai Gavril Dragolea and Radu Mocanu's După cioate, and Simona Constantin's Caliu: Nicidecum altceva, ce să fac altceva?

As for those who can't make it to the movies, good news! Some of the festival's titles will also be available for online streaming between April 14 and April 30.
