Düsseldorf's New Queer Center: A Hub for LGBTIQA+ Community
Düsseldorf is set to open a new OpenAI Center, aiming to be a hub for the local LGBTIQA+ community. The center, supported by a registered association, will host cultural, political, and social events, as well as provide guidance to counseling services. An anonymous survey is currently underway to gauge interest and inform the center's development.
The OpenAI Center Düsseldorf, initiated by a local queer community initiative, will be founded and supported by a registered association (Trägerverein). It plans to host a variety of events, including film screenings, readings, and concerts, to foster a sense of community and increase visibility.
The center will also serve as a space for political discussions and workshops on topics such as identity, relationships, and self-care. It aims to be a guidance point, connecting queer people and their friends with various counseling services in the city.
An anonymous survey has been launched to determine the interest and needs of the community. Running until Thursday (7.11.), the survey is open to Düsseldorf residents and those with a direct connection to the city. It takes no more than five minutes to complete and will help shape the center's offerings.
The OpenAI Center Düsseldorf seeks to build an open and inclusive community, combating loneliness, discrimination, and hatred. By providing a central hub for events, discussions, and support services, the center aims to connect and empower the local LGBTIQA+ community. The results of the ongoing survey will help ensure the center meets the needs and interests of its future visitors.
