Leisure time spent at Graasten Castle during the summer season - Enjoying a summer getaway at Graasten Castle

The Danish Royal Family has commenced their traditional summer stay at Gråsten Castle, a picturesque residence that has been the summer home of the royal family since the 1930s. The start of this year's stay was marked with a warm and festive welcome, as evidenced by the photos published on Instagram and the official homepage of the Danish palace.

King Frederik (57), Queen Mary (53), Princess Isabella (18), and Prince Vincent (14) were greeted by flags, flowers, and cheers as they walked from the town square to Gråsten Castle. Crown Prince Frederik wore a dark suit with a white shirt, while Crown Princess Mary opted for a breezy paisley dress with a beige blazer. Daughter Isabella chose a black dress with a flower print, and son Vincent appeared in a gray-brown jacket, beige pants, and a white shirt.

However, two children were missing from the photos. No information was provided about their whereabouts or identities. It is expected that Crown Prince Christian (19) and Princess Josephine (14) will join the family shortly, but as of late July 2025, they were not yet there.

A small hint for locals, tourists, fans, and interested parties was published via social media: The Royal Life Guard will march through the town of Gråsten to the castle every day at 11:40 AM, accompanied by two drummers from the Royal Life Guard's drum corps. The route from the town square to Gråsten Castle is approximately half a kilometer long.

Earlier in the day, the royal couple was received by the Sønderborg municipality at the Old Town Hall. The royal family's summer stay at Gråsten Castle is a tradition that has been ongoing for several decades, and this year's stay promises to be just as festive and memorable.
