Families residing in Sverdlovsk region have an opportunity to secure a pass for the "Big Family Vacation" event through the project of the same name.
Over a hundred families nationwide are competing for a spot at the All-Russian Family Tourism Festival in the Tula region, scheduled from August 7 to 10. According to the regional department of information policy, eligible families with children aged between 7 and 17 can participate by submitting an application online and presenting a creative video proposal on their imagined family tour across Russia, as well as designing a captivating route within their locality. Successful applicants will be informed on June 5 and will travel to the festival courtesy of certificates from the "More Than Travel" program.
The festivities include masterclasses on hiking tourism and first aid, meet-and-greets with experienced travelers, campfire evenings, guitar serenades, open-air cinema, guided tours, team sports, obstacle courses, relay races, quests, and concerts. Olesya Teterina, the general director of ANO "More Than Travel," sees family hikes as not merely recreational activities but as opportunities to strengthen, unite, and grow closer as families.
It is worth mentioning the "More Than Travel" program, implemented as part of the "Youth and Children" national project, is working together with the "First Movement" to foster hiking tourism among the youth. The project aligns with the objectives of the federal program "Decade of Childhood," initiated by Russian President Vladimir Putin. Over a million people have already participated in the hikes organized by the "First Hikes - More Than Travel" project.
