In Progress: Second Installment of the Hiking Video Series Is Being Recorded
=========================================================================
The Tramping Video Series, now filming its second season, has taken adventurous teams to some of New Zealand's most breathtaking landscapes.
On December 14, 2020, the third trip of the series ventured into the Southern Crossing, Tararua Ranges. The team consisted of Tom, Jared, Adam, Anne, and Katherine. Initially, high winds caused a delay, but the weather eventually improved, allowing them to capture stunning footage. Highlights of this trip included an outstanding sunset with views over the Kaikoura ranges and watching the International Space Station flyover.
The second trip, on December 8, 2020, led the team to Welcome Flat Hut, Copland Valley. This outing, which included Nathan, Tom, Jared, and Passang, showcased the remnants of the storms in late 2019 that still appeared very apparent on this section of the track. Highlights of this trip included a first hut experience for Mike's children and some cool remnants of the logging history in the area.
The first trip of the series took place on November 26, 2020, in Kauaeranga Kauri Trail (Pinnacles), Coromandel. The team for this trip consisted of Mike, his family, Tom, Julie, and Jared. This trip marked a significant milestone, as it was the first hut experience for Mike's children.
The Tramping Video Series has also ventured to Mt Aspiring, with trips on March 8 and 15, 2021, and Mt Richmond Forest Park on January 25, 2021. The series' sixth and seventh trips were in Mt Aspiring National Park.
It's worth noting that drones are prohibited in National Parks without permission from the Department of Conservation. However, all filming for the series, including drone usage, was permitted by the Department of Conservation. The Department of Conservation's guidelines for drone usage can be found on their website.
The team for the fourth trip, which took place in Mt Richmond Forest Park, has not been publicly disclosed.
The fifth trip of the series was in Mt Somers, Canterbury on February 15, 2021. Further details about the team and highlights of this trip are not currently available.
