Indians with passports can now travel to the Philippines without a visa. Here are the details.
The Philippines has announced visa-free entry for Indian nationals, making the archipelago nation an attractive travel destination for Indian tourists. Known for its stunning turquoise waters, pristine white sand beaches, and volcanic landscape, the Philippines is becoming increasingly popular among Indian travelers. With the new visa policy, traveling to the Philippines has been made more accessible for Indian visitors.
In line with the updated regulations, two distinct categories of visa-free entry have been establised for Indian travelers:
A 14-day visa-free stayIndian citizens can visit the Philippines for a holiday of up to 14 days without applying for a visa. However, this category is non-extendable, meaning the stay cannot be prolonged or converted to a different visa type.
To be eligible for this visa-free stay, Indian travelers must meet the following criteria:- Their visit to the Philippines must be exclusively for tourism.- Their passport must be valid for at least six months beyond their intended stay.- They must provide evidence of confirmed accommodation, such as hotel bookings.- They must show proof of sufficient funds to cover their expenses during their stay, such as bank statements or employment certificates.- They must present a confirmed return or onward ticket.- They must not have a negative immigration history or any derogatory record with the Philippine Bureau of Immigration.
A 30-day visa-free stay for AJACSSUK visa/residency holdersIndian nationals who hold valid visas or permanent residency from countries such as Australia, Japan, America, Canada, Schengen states, Singapore, and the United Kingdom are eligible for a 30-day visa-free stay in the Philippines.
The 30-day visa-free entry is also intended for tourists and requires the same general requirements, including passport validity, proof of accommodation, proof of sufficient funds, and no negative immigration record.
It is worth noting that Indian travelers who do not meet the criteria for the visa-free entry can still apply for a 30-day single-entry stay via the e-visa route, which is available through the official e-visa portal. The e-visa system requires applicants to register on evisa.gov.ph and provide relevant documents such as a valid passport, government-issued ID, passport-sized photographs, proof of accommodation, a return or onward travel ticket, and financial proof to support their stay.
