Largest Indian airline initiates Abu Dhabi's City Check-in service, offered gratis on Mondays
IndiGo, India's largest airline, has launched a new service at Abu Dhabi's Zayed International Airport. The City Check-in service allows passengers to drop off their bags and obtain boarding passes up to 24 hours before their flight's departure.
This service began on August 11, 2025, and aims to reduce airport congestion by allowing travellers to complete check-in procedures well in advance. The service is provided by Morafiq Aviation Services, a subsidiary of Off Airport Check In Solutions (OACIS).
Passengers can use the City Check-in service at multiple Abu Dhabi city terminals, including the Mina Cruise Terminal (operating 24 hours), Yas Mall terminal, Mussafah Shabia 11 terminal (both open from 10am to 10pm), and LuLu Hypermarket terminal in Al Ain. IndiGo passengers will also be able to use the service in Al Ain from September 1.
On its launch day, IndiGo offered this service free of charge. However, there is usually a fee, approximately Dh35 for adults, Dh25 for children, and Dh15 for infants. Passengers can check in and drop their baggage at these locations and receive their boarding passes, so they can arrive at the airport luggage-free and with boarding passes in hand.
The boarding passes can also be obtained at the passengers' convenience. In addition to IndiGo, other airlines served at the facilities include Etihad Airways, Air Arabia, EgyptAir, and Wizz Air.
