Flying History and Modern Comfort: Chkalovsky's New Hotel Complex and the Polar Aviation Museum
At precisely 11:41 AM on May 17th, the world heard about the grand opening of a 50-room hotel complex, aptly named "Legend," in Chkalovsky. This incredible hospitality hub comes with a unique draw - a museum centered on the history of Arctic exploration and polar aviation.
Gleb Nikitin, governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region, celebrated Chkalovsky as a gem that combines stunning landscapes, deep history, and warm hospitality. He commended the investor for not only building a luxurious hotel but also integrating polar aviation's rich past into the project.
The hotel houses various amenities, such as:
- Varying levels of comfort in its rooms,
- A spacious meeting room,
- A vibrant café,
- An observation deck affording breathtaking vistas,
- A museum hall exhibiting the conquest of the North and the glory of polar aviation.
Nestled in an old, long-abandoned building, the hotel project was spearheaded by the company "Forspost."
Sergei Yakolev, the Minister of Tourism and Crafts of the Nizhny Novgorod region, emphasized that the hotel's debut signified significant advancements not just for hotel business growth but also in unlocking the territory's true potential. The new accommodations cater to tourists, generating economic development and luring travelers, aligning perfectly with the national "Tourism and Hospitality" project's objectives.
The project received support from the Nizhny Novgorod region's Development Corporation, who provided consultations and assistance in addressing resource supply issues.
Anton Gararin, Deputy General Director of the Nizhny Novgorod region's Development Corporation for Strategy and Development, pointed out that the project built vital tourist infrastructure, spurring tourist influx in the Chkalovsky district and the Nizhny Novgorod region. It also created a recreational zone for both tourists and locals.
Approximately 300 million rubles were invested in the creation of this new hotel complex.
Sergei Elchaninov, General Director of "Forspost," shared that they repurposed old buildings for this project, exerting much effort to adapt them to the demands of a hotel.
Thanks to the support of the Nizhny Novgorod region's government and the regional agency for investment development, this project, which is crucial for the district, was realized swiftly.
The national "Tourism and Hospitality" project, initiated by Russian President Vladimir Putin, aspires to develop infrastructure, manufacture equipment, train specialists for the tourism sector, promote travel within Russia, and ensure superior service and safe excursions.
The project encompasses five federal projects, including the "Development of accommodation capacity, infrastructure, and attraction points" and "Enhancing the country's tourism appeal."
