Mandatory Use of "Traveling Without COVID-19" App Potentially Enforced in EAEU Countries
Breaking News:
The "Travel without COVID-19" mobile app could soon become compulsory for entry into EAEU countries, including Russia. Alexei Overchuk, Russian Deputy Prime Minister, made this revelation in a recent interview. He suggested that EAEU countries might transition to this format by July 1, with CIS countries following suit around September 1.
Overchuk pointed out that the app has been instrumental in allowing citizen entries into Russia during these trying times. He believes that making its use mandatory will help to further reduce the risk of the virus entering their territory.
Work is also underway to collaborate with countries outside the EAEU and CIS. The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, along with Rospotrebnadzor and the Eurasian Development Bank, have held briefings for foreign ambassadors to familiarize them with this app. Overchuk mentioned that there's interest from other countries to join the platform.
Interestingly, Tajikistan, though not part of the EAEU, has recently joined the app. This brings the total number of connected countries to six. Overchuk expressed hope that more nations will hop aboard this travel solution in the near future.
However, it's unclear at this point whether Tajikistan will be mandated to use the app for entry into EAEU countries by July 1. For the most accurate information, it's best to refer to official sources or announcements from the Tajikistan government or the EAEU.
The use of the "Travel without COVID-19" app, a significant part of modern technology, might not only become obligatory for EAEU countries like Russia, but could also potentially expand to include travel to CIS countries by July 1 and other international destinations in the future, subject to negotiations and individual country decisions. With an increasing number of countries, including Tajikistan, already adopting the app, it signifies a potential shift in the global lifestyle that prioritizes health and safety in travel.
