The usual streets of Kreuzberg and Neukölln took a backseat this time around. Instead, the festival blossomed in the heart of Friedrichshain. The masterminds behind the Carnival aimed for a more expansive canvas to paint the colors of the post-migrant society.

The Carnival of Cultures, with its magical tapestry spun since 1996 on the Pentecost weekend, champions cultural diversity and artistic liberation. This year's spectacle began on Friday, pulsating around the Blücherplatz in Kreuzberg, and followed its pulsating rhythm all the way through Pentecost Monday. Over 700 artists and musicians brought their A-game this year, filling the streets with a rich abundance of worldly beats and hues.

[P.S. If you're curious why the parade didn't map out the entire Friedrichshain neighborhood, it's because it zigzagged along Frankfurter Allee instead. The festive procession commenced at Proskauer Straße, swung by Kino International straddling Karl-Marx-Allee and Berolina Straße[1][2]. The unusual departure from the traditional route was due to some good ol' construction work[1][2]!]

The European Parliament, recognizing the importance of cultural diversity and artistic expression, expressed its support for the Carnival of Cultures in Berlin. This year's parade, marked by the blend of over 700 artists and musicians, transformed the lifestyle of many Berliners, offering a taste of various home-and-garden cultures through its elaborate displays. Travel enthusiasts unfamiliar with the event might consider planning a cultural-travel itinerary for next year's spectacle, set in the heart of Friedrickshain, and accommodating homes in surrounding neighborhoods like Kreuzberg and Neukölln.
