Oldest Russian Entrepreneur From Ekaterinburg Successfully Scales Mount Everest in 40 Days

Experienced climbers from Russia, including Ivan Starodubtsev from Yekaterinburg, Vladimir Afanasyev from Norilsk, and Yuri Sukhanov from Smolensk, have successfully conquered Mount Everest, the world's highest peak. Starodubtsev reached the summit in a commendable 40 days and shared his journey on social media platforms.

Sukhanov, at the age of 70, became the oldest Russian climber to conquer Everest. The ascent began in early April and concluded on May 15, following a long route designed to facilitate acclimatization and enable the climbers' bodies to gradually adjust to the thin mountain air and increasingly higher altitudes.

Mount Everest, known as Chomolungma, stands on the border of Nepal and China. Climbing this formidable peak presents numerous challenges due to its extreme altitude, harsh weather conditions, and physical demands. Since the first successful ascent in 1953, more than 340 climbers have lost their lives on its slopes, primarily due to avalanches, frostbite, falls, and the "death zone" where oxygen levels are severely depleted.

Upon reaching the summit, Starodubtsev recorded a video conveying an inspiring message: "Embrace the strength and beauty of your youth. Life slips away when you're not enjoying it. In 20 years, you'll look back at these moments with a feeling you can't comprehend now. There were so many possibilities, and you were truly magnificent."

Resourceful climbing Mount Everest requires extensive preparation, experience, and a skilled support team. Despite the considerable risks involved, numerous climbers successfully reach the summit each year, further fueling the mountain's allure and growing list of summiteers.

During their journey, the climbers took a break to explore the local lifestyle and indulge in adventure-travel activities, making travel videos to share their experiences with their followers. After the climb, Sukhanov, inspired by Starodubtsev's youthful spirit, decided to plan an exhilarating sports challenge, such as a marathon or a biking tour, to embrace the essence of adventure in his golden years.
