Osnabrück's Cultural Evening: An Evening of Dance and Music Festivities
Get ready for an enchanting night as the 22nd Osnabrück Cultural Night takes place on August 31, from 6 pm to midnight. Over 200 musicians, artists, and cultural institutions will come together to transform the city into a lively canvas of creativity.
The event will kick off with a performance by the municipal music and art school at 5 pm, followed by the public printing and sale of the etching "Osnabrück - In Turbulent Times" at 5 pm in front of the cultural house in Marienstraße. Reinhard Klink, a renowned artist, has created a new work for this special edition of the etching.
Eight students from the Institute for Art/Kunstpädagogik at the University of Osnabrück will present their artistic results, while Tina Schick's crime play "Im Abgang sturzgefährdet" will be shown at the Stadtgalerie Café́ at 6, 7, 8, and 9 PM.
For the first time, guests can visit the hase29 studio and witness the results of the "Marathon of Drawing VII". The art gallery Huelsmeier will showcase works created by women during the cultural night.
The music theater Lupe will celebrate the tenth anniversary of its successful play "Wolle and Gack" on the plaza of the Haus der Jugend, and Katrin Lazaruk will present Tape-Art at the Hair-, Heart- and Art-Salon PHYLLIS & FELLAS.
Brass music, jazz, and swing will fill the air as the market serves as a stage for several performances. The nave of St. Marien Church will be transformed into a dance floor as part of its church anniversary celebrations, and St. Marien Church will also be open for dancing.
Visitors can take a peek behind the scenes in workshops and on rehearsal stages at the Theater am Domhof. FOKUS e.V. will host a relaxed music lounge on the Platz des 20. Juli, and three bands will play on an old piano at the Espresso Studio Osnabrück.
A "Retro Gaming Evening" will take place at the city library, and Fusion Jazz by Markus Kroger & friends will perform under the title "DanceBar!" at the Forum at the Cathedral from 9:30 to 11:30 PM. Christoph Meiners and Thorsten Wigger will perform groovy lounge music at the Forum at the Cathedral from 7 to 9 PM.
The Remarque Peace Center will present the photo exhibition "The Wall" by Annet van der Voort, and the artists who worked together in the Kunstraum will be present to converse with the audience. The Hasekiez is participating again this year, with the Kunstraum hase29 showcasing their artistic creations.
