In the heart of Kazakhstan, Astana is gearing up for a tourism boom in 2025. According to recent data, the city's tourism sector contributed 5.9% (919 billion tenge) to its economy in 2024. This figure is set to rise as passenger traffic increases, with air transport seeing a 9% increase (2 million people), and rail transport growing by 23% (1.2 million people).

The first quarter of 2025 saw a 7% increase in tourist flow, with 314,000 people visiting. The city's tourism authorities are aiming high, with plans to attract 1.7 million tourists this year, including a growing share of foreign tourists.

The strategic direction for Astana's tourism development focuses on building the city's tourist potential by positioning it as a key cultural platform. This includes hosting large-scale cultural events, expanding hospitality infrastructure, and increasing both domestic and international visitor numbers.
