Return of Café Klatsch in Wiesbaden, following its shutdown in June
The beloved Café Klatsch in Wiesbaden's Rheingauviertel is on the road to a new beginning, with a dedicated group of individuals working tirelessly to bring back the cultural and meeting place that closed after 40 years. The group has launched a crowdfunding campaign on GoFundMe to raise funds for the establishment of the café as a cooperative, with a goal of 22,000 euros.
The new Café Klatsch will continue to serve as a left-alternative cultural hub, offering a volunteer-run bar, cultural and political events, and even a kitchen in the future. The group, consisting of former collective members, friends, curious individuals, people from friendly shops, guests, and engaged community members, is confident that the café will thrive with community support.
As of August 13, over 5,000 euros have been raised through the GoFundMe campaign. The funds will be used for establishing the cooperative, renovating spaces, renewing inventory, applying for permits, and making initial purchases. The reopening of Café Klatsch is expected to be in October or at the latest in November.

The option to purchase cooperative shares will only be available once the cooperative is officially established, with each share costing 100 euros.
