Stewart Steeves Named New Chair of TradePort Board
Stewart Steeves has been appointed as the new Chair of the TradePort Board of Directors, succeeding Col. R. Foxcroft, O.C., who will now serve as Chair Emeritus. Steeves brings extensive airport planning and development experience to the role, having previously overseen nearly $10 billion in redevelopment projects across North America and the Caribbean.
Col. Foxcroft, who has served as Board Chair for 30 years, including 21 years as Chair, leaves behind a legacy of remarkable growth at Hamilton International. During his tenure, the airport became Canada's largest overnight express cargo hub and saw significant increases in passenger traffic.
Steeves, who currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer at Vantage Group and has been a long-time board member of TradePort, is honoured to build on the foundation laid by Foxcroft. He will be joined by Ron McKerlie, the former President of Mohawk College, who brings 35 years of experience in senior roles across various sectors. McKerlie has been appointed as a Director of the TradePort Board of Directors and is eager to help advance the growth of Hamilton International as an economic driver and community asset.
To honour Foxcroft's legacy, TradePort is establishing the TradePort Ron Foxcroft Leadership in Aviation Scholarship at Mohawk College. Foxcroft will continue to serve as an ambassador, advisor, and champion for Hamilton International in his new role as Chair Emeritus, ensuring a smooth transition and continued success for the airport.
