Parisian Summer Splash: Dive into Paris's Seine-side Swimming Pools! 🌊

Paris unveils its Seine outdoor swimming spots for the summer season - Summertime sees Parisian riverside swimming pools in the Seine flowing open for locals and tourists alike to take a refreshing dip.

Summer's here and Parissitans, along with tourists, can rejoice! From July, three public swimming pools will grace the Seine, one closer than ever to the iconic Eiffel Tower. France's Sports Minister, Marie Barsacq, glowingly declared, "Now everyone can take a refreshing dip in the Seine this summer!"

The Seine-side pool trio will make its grand debut on July 5. One will station opposite the Swan Island, nearby the Eiffel Tower, another will crowd the riverbank beside Notre-Dame Cathedral, and the last will nestle near the National Library. Each site will be furnished with changing rooms, showers, and a sunbathing spot, with lifeguards keeping a protective eye.

Quality Control ensures the Seine's pristine condition is maintained throughout the swimming season, as swimmers plunge directly into the river. This continued monitoring is vital as pools filled with Seine water have been a popular convenience in the Canal Bassin de la Villette in Paris.

Enjoying an aquatic escape near the Eiffel Tower will be a delightful experience for families and kids, with designated swimming zones set up. The pools will cater to the hot summer months using floating pontoons and containers, all to be ditched in winter.

"Given the approaching heatwaves and climate change, we urgently need swimming spots to beat the heat," stated the Sports Minister regarding the Seine-side pools. Paris Mayor, Anne Hidalgo, echoed this sentiment, emphasizing improvements in city living in light of increased temperatures. A progressive step toward making the river accessible to the populace involved closing roads lining the banks to traffic.

Swimming in the Seine once more is a long-cherished desire in the French capital. Despite it being officially banned in 1923, covert swimming lasted until the early '60s. Fast-forward to present day, investment in water quality initiatives has finally brought this dream to reality!
