TCS Reports Record Camping Season in 2025 Despite Rainy July

The Touring Club Suisse (TCS) has reported a successful camping season in 2025, with around 900,000 overnight stays at its campsites. Despite a rainy July, campsites remained full until late September, reflecting a high demand for camping holidays.

TCS saw a 4% increase in camping memberships, reaching 28,700 members. This growth contributed to the positive result, despite the loss of the large Gampelen campsite in canton Bern. The majority of guests, 69%, were from Switzerland, with significant numbers also coming from Germany (13%), the Netherlands (5%), and other European countries.

Most TCS campsites closed in mid-October, but several locations, including Flims, Lugano-Muzzano, Olivone, Samedan, Sion, and Solothurn, remained open over the winter to accommodate year-round camping enthusiasts.

The TCS's camping division has shown resilience and growth in 2025, with a record number of overnight stays and an increase in memberships. Despite challenges such as the loss of a major campsite and inclement weather, the organization has maintained its popularity among both local and international campers.
