Tourist train on Silk Road route, led by Jibek Joly, set to embark on a six-day adventure in September.

The Jibek Joly (Silk Road) tourist train is set to commence its new season on September 19, 2025, offering a six-day journey that begins and ends in Almaty, Kazakhstan. The route will traverse some of the most historically significant cities along the Central Asian Silk Road, connecting key sites in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.

The itinerary for the 2025 season includes major stops such as Almaty, Turkistan, Otyrar, Samarkand, Bukhara, and Tashkent. Passengers will visit major architectural and historical monuments at each stop, immersing themselves in the region’s cultural and historical heritage.

Highlights of the journey include the Khoja Ahmed Yasawi Mausoleum in Turkistan, a masterpiece of Timurid architecture, the Otyrar archaeological site rich in Central Asian history, and the iconic Registan Square and Amir Timur Mausoleum in Samarkand. The Ark Fortress and Lyabi-Khauz Square in Bukhara, and the Tole-bi Mausoleum and Hazrati Imam Memorial Complex in Tashkent, will also be visited.

The Jibek Joly tourist train consists of five carriages: four comfortable compartment carriages and one restaurant carriage, all decorated in national style with traditional Kazakh ornamental motifs. This setup aims to provide a blend of comfort and cultural immersion throughout the journey.

Launched in late 2024, the Jibek Joly tourist train has already carried more than 1,000 passengers on a similar five-day route. The extended, six-day journey for the 2025 season is expected to further enhance the experience for travelers interested in Central Asian history and culture.
