Spending another day on Fitzroy Island, the traveler took advantage of the island's five different hiking trails, suitable for all fitness levels. Day 4: Mossman Gorge and Mission Beach

On their way back from Port Douglas, the traveler stopped at Mossman Gorge, a beautiful rainforest area offering walking trails and opportunities to spot native wildlife. The final destination of the day was Mission Beach, where the traveler enjoyed a leisurely walk along the long, picturesque beach.

Exploring Cairns

Cairns is a destination that truly offers something for everyone. Most tourists prefer visiting during the dry season, from May to October, when temperatures range from 25-30 degrees and low humidity make outdoor activities enjoyable. This season is ideal for diving, snorkeling, and hiking due to better underwater visibility and pleasant weather.

However, the wet season, from November to April, offers its own unique experiences. Although it is less crowded and has warmer water suitable for long snorkeling and diving sessions, it also brings tropical afternoon showers and stinger jellyfish, requiring precautions like wearing stinger suits.

Must-visit attractions in and around Cairns include the Great Barrier Reef, Kuranda Village, Cairns Esplanade Lagoon, Barron Gorge National Park, Botanical Gardens and Wildlife Parks, Millaa Millaa Falls, and Atherton Tablelands.
