Unimog Museum Gaggenau hosts off-road event featuring Kloppomobil at its World Traveler's Meeting
At the "Wanderlust" meeting, held annually at the Unimog Museum in Germany, Peter März is once again participating, marking his tenth or eleventh visit this year. This event, which will celebrate its 13th edition in 2025, is a dedicated gathering for individuals who traverse the globe with their all-wheel-drive vehicles.
The Unimog Museum, known for its off-road character, welcomes unique vehicles such as Unimogs, Iveco Daily 4x4s, and others for this special occasion. Participants come together to share a passion for adventure and exploration, exchanging ideas, experiences, and stories about their travels on all continents, encounters with diverse people and wildlife, and countless adventures during their journeys.
In addition to presentations by international speakers and exhibitions of exceptional vehicles with significant horsepower, lively discussions among travelers, adventure-seekers, and vehicle enthusiasts are a highlight of the event. This exchange fosters a community bonded by their unique lifestyle of global exploration using robust, versatile vehicles like Unimogs and 4x4 alternatives.
This year, Peter März is using a MAN TGX 26.640 truck at the "Wanderlust" meeting. The MAN TGX 26.640, with its 640 horsepower, can be raised an additional 15 centimeters, providing more ground clearance for off-road challenges. Meanwhile, the expedition container of the MAN TGX 26.640 is currently being repainted.
Other vehicle brands are welcome at the Unimog Museum, but Unimogs are preferred. For instance, Theo März from Lörrach owns a 1017, a former police driving school vehicle from 1987. Theo has set up a table, folding chairs, and a small tent for sleeping accommodation on the back of the 1017.
The event features program highlights such as the premiere of the video "Feuermog" and various lectures, demonstrations, or off-road courses. After the 2025 meeting, the Unimog Museum will celebrate its 20th anniversary with a three-day MB-trac and Unimog meeting in 2026.
Peter März and his wife plan to tour Alaska in the MAN TGX 26.640 after shipping it from Hamburg to Halifax. The next "Wanderlust" meeting will be held in 2027, promising another exciting gathering of world travelers and their off-road capable vehicles.
Standard caravans or motorhomes are not allowed at the Unimog Museum, making the event a unique celebration of self-sufficient, off-road travel. The 2025 meeting saw a total of 130 vehicles come together, testifying to the growing popularity of this inspiring event.
